A Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) with experience in providing community service, presentations and lectures, teaching assistance, and articles for academic publication, Dr. Katalina Ramirez has practiced pediatric dentistry for more than a decade. She works as the owner and practicing dentist at her privately owned office in Redwood Shores, California. Dr. Ramirez specializes in prevention and treatment for children and teenagers up to 18 years of age.
Dr. Katalina Ramirez graduated from a four-year program at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, Colombia, with a focus in Dentistry and a DDS Certification for the Republic of Columbia. She enrolled in University of Minnesota to secure her Master's degree in Science and received her pediatric dentistry certification for the state of California.
Over the years, Dr. Katalina Ramirez has served as an Assistant Professor and Clinical Instructor, given lectures on basic and advanced topics at DDS, IDS, and AEGD events, and presented several Table Clinics at annual dentistry gatherings. She has offered her time and expertise to several schools and health fairs, teaching prevention techniques and oral hygiene basics to children in pre- and elementary school. As a volunteer dentist, she also gave oral health screenings to children at participating schools.
In 2003, Dr. Katalina Ramirez opened her Redwood Shores pediatric dental facility, and she has been practicing there for nearly 10 years. Her office boasts televisions at each chair station in the back, helping children become more relaxed and comfortable while having routine work done. Dr. Ramirez shows children what she will be doing ahead of time using stuffed animals as props.
